Blackjack Strategy: When To Hit Or Stand

One of the most interesting things about Blackjack and what makes it different from other casino games is that the dealer is governed by a certain set of rules that determine how he or she plays the game. One of the most important of these involves the number 17. In Blackjack, the dealer has to continue drawing cards until he reaches a combined card value of 17. The other players in the game in the other hand can stop at any point he or she wants to.

In addition, when the dealer reaches a combined value of 17 or higher, he or she has to stand and not add any more cards to his or her hand. All of the other players on the other hand are allowed to go on as they feel necessary and add more cards to his or her hand that will hopefully result in a combined total card value that is closer to 21. Of course this means that the dealer is free from having to choose whether to go for a higher combined value since their actions are governed by the rules of these casino games.
